The YMCA of Greater Des Moines eliminated my Executive Director position on May 6, 2019.

 

Visionary leader for South Suburban YMCA.

Achievements include: 

  • Increased fundraising from $79K to $110K, FY13 to FY18 by expanding funding steams, adding online peer-to-peer giving and improving year-round messaging to support philanthropic growth

  • Increased membership revenue from $739K to $798K, FY13 to FY18 by expanding grassroots marketing, improving staff accountability using EOS system and significantly improving facility through creative problem solving - within YMCA Association that closed 2 branches and 1 program center in 4-year span

  • Added programs and partnerships to serve the community including mobile food pantry, community garden, community orchard, Medals4Mettle-Des Moines, free dinner program for kids, organ donation awareness, chronic disease prevention and physical therapy

  • YMCA relationship champion and public spokesperson within the community

The Urban Core Initiative focuses on the development of 10 urban neighborhoods in Des Moines, Iowa. The effort works to improve housing, security, education, and health.

Organizational architect for Everybody Wins! Iowa.  

Achievements include: 

  • Led an organization that served nearly 400 kids weekly with 13 part-time staff, while decreasing organization expenses by 30% over 2-year span

  • Built a board that represents our diverse community and inspired collaboration through improved Board of Directors structure and engagement

  • Successful liaison and communicator between donors, staff, Board of Directors, school staff, community partnerships and media

  • Led all fundraising, budgeting, marketing, human resources, board management, program development, facilities and IT = I was "the guys"!
